One of the best things about summer is relaxing outside and enjoying live music. Our annual Summer Concert Series is here to help. Join us on Sunday, August 27 at 7pm at the Hilliard Civic and Cultural Arts Center for this week’s free concert with the big band jazz sounds of the Arch City Big Band
In a conversation over a cup of coffee in 2019, Mark Fox conceived of a new, community Big Band. He knew a lot of fine musicians who had “day jobs,” but also had a passion for playing jazz. The word soon got and very quickly the Arch City Big Band was formed. Inspired by the Columbus historical nick name of Arch City, the Arch City Big Band is made up entirely of volunteer musicians united in their love of the big band sound and working together musically to inspire our community to enjoy, pursue and preserve Big Band Jazz.
These concerts are made possible in part due to the generosity of our sponsors: Coffee Connections of Hilliard, the Rotary Club of Hilliard, Raising Cane’s, Blue Oak Patio and Landscaping, and Westwood Collective.
Don’t forget that the Hilliard DORA is in effect, so feel free to bring food and adult beverages from participating Hilliard taverns and restaurants.
In the event of inclement weather, the concerts will be held inside Hilliard Civic and Cultural Arts Center so please come down to Old Hilliard rain or shine.
