One of the best things about summer is relaxing outside and enjoying live music. Our annual Summer Concert Series is here to help. Join us on Sunday, August 6 at 7pm at the Hilliard Civic and Cultural Arts Center for this week’s free concert with the sultry sounds of Brazilian jazz featuring the Invisible Lights Quartet.
While the band members of the Invisible Lights Quartet come from different musical backgrounds and countries, they are united by a love for the music and grooves of Brazil. Inspired by artists such as Chico Pinheiro, Egberto Gismonti and Toninho Horta, Invisible Lights Quartet seeks to spread the musical worlds of samba, choro, baiao, bossa nova, afoxe to the midwestern region of the United States. Invisible Lights Quartet features Logan Moore on alto saxophone and flute, Ben Maloney on piano, Will Strickler on 6-string electric bass and Antoine Fatout on drums. Each of these musicians are sought after players and perform across in the midwest region with a variety of other artists including Dan Wilson, Zakk Jones, Tommy Lehman, Brandon Coleman, New Basics Brass Band, Chris Jamison (finalist on The Voice), Talking Ear and more.
These concerts are made possible in part due to the generosity of our sponsors: Coffee Connections of Hilliard, the Rotary Club of Hilliard, Raising Cane’s, Blue Oak Patio and Landscaping, and Westwood Collective.
Don’t forget that the Hilliard DORA is in effect, so feel free to bring food and adult beverages from participating Hilliard taverns and restaurants.
In the event of inclement weather, the concerts will be held inside Hilliard Civic and Cultural Arts Center so please come down to Old Hilliard rain or shine.
