Hilliard Arts Council commitment to arts education is exemplified through an annual visual arts scholarship program for graduating seniors from Hilliard-area high schools. A $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a deserving senior at each high school that plans to continue their education in the visual arts at the collegiate level. This program has been in place for over 20 years, and to date, over $60,000 has been awarded to our community’s young artists.
Interested seniors must complete the application form by March 31, 2023. The application must include the student’s statement of qualification, a recommendation from a relevant high school teacher familiar with their work and a resume/CV.
Eligibility is limited to Hilliard high school seniors enrolling in a college or university with an intention to major in a visual arts program or curriculum. Areas of study may include visual arts (including painting, sculpture, or illustration), graphic design, photography, film making, animation, art education, art therapy, art history, and fashion design. Other areas may possibly be considered eligible for the scholarship with discussion with Hilliard Arts Council.
Submitted applications will be reviewed by the Hilliard Arts Council Development and Community Outreach team to determine recipients. Selected recipients will be honored their prospective senior awards ceremonies!
