Arts Council’s ‘Godspell’ begins Oct. 24 The Hilliard Arts Council will present Godspell Oct. 24 to 26 at Darby High School, 4200 Leppert Road. Performances are at 8 p.m. Oct. 24 and 25 and 2 p.m. Oct. 26 at the school’s performing-arts center. Tickets will be $15 for adults, $12 for students and senior citizens. When purchased in blocks of 10 or more, tickets are discounted to $10 each. The discount is intended to encourage church groups to attend shows. The play, based on the gospel of Matthew in the Bible, is the fourth turn for director Robin Brenneman, who directed Godspell three times as drama director at Davidson High School. Based on the Gospel according to Saint Matthew and featuring a sparkling score by Stephen Schwartz, Godspell boasts a string of wellloved songs led by the international hit Day by Day. As the cast performs Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord, All Good Gifts, All for the Best, Turn Back O Man and By My Side the parables of Jesus Christ come humanly and hearteningly to life. Audition Information: Auditions for Godspell are scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Hilliard Presbyterian Church, 3600 Leap Rd., Hilliard. Bring a song that shows your vocal range. Carole Bundy will be our music director and will be there to accompany. You will also be asked to do a cold reading from the script.
